Besøk (Visitor) is a collaborative endeavor where visitors to Ullers Jazz/Bass Klubb converge to craft music. In these impromptu jam sessions in the studio in the countryside outside Oslo, the visitors enjoyed total creative freedom to express and develop some of the magic moments captured here on the album, curated by Lukas & BHLB.

The essence of these gatherings is distilled into an album that transcends genre and convention. Here, the fusion of electronic experimentation and organic instrumentation gives rise to a soundscape that resonates with both authenticity and innovation. The goal was to capture the magic moments that sometimes occur when just picking up an instrument and seeing what happens.

With colour brought by brass, guitar and bass, alongside synthesis, percussion (plus everything else at hand that makes an interesting noise) the sound was arranged and developed from formation by BHLB, a producer with roots in Experimental Beats, Bass, African and South American rhythms and decades of experience as a DJ. Co curator Lukas is a multi instrumentalist with countless live and studio sessions across Jazz, Electronic, Folk, Orchestral and Prog Rock.

Besøk is both a simple and a detailed piece.
A soundscape that travels.

Of melody and noise.
Of rhythm and space
Of solemness and joy.
Together with the visitors.
